Stenciled ceiling

This east Indian inspired ceiling pattern was stenciled with red and gold metallic paints in my clients residential "lounge/ karaoke room".  I designed the medallion using a few different patterns and meshing them together to make a circle--this took a good day and a half in my studio to work out on paper in actual scale- 60" diameter. I then cut the stencils out of special plastic material and with a tool that burns thru the material. red rope lighting add a cool effect.  My friend and artist Emily Farish created the border design, and equally talented Susan Mitchell assisted me in the application.
